Precipitation Maps
They utilize a "vegetative" color scheme where browns, orange and yellow colors indicate drier conditions and greens and blues indicate progressively wetter conditions. Monthly maps use a common legend, so they can be easily compared to one another. Likewise, total season maps use a similar color scale, but with higher rainfall values to account for summarized precipitation over the growing season.
